PUPPY (but you can call him kitkat) puppy was the runt of a litter of seven halfbreeds, born in the shape of a kitten. sickly and weak, he was adopted by a fallen phoenix god and his dragon god companion, who nursed puppy back to health. exposed to their divinity at a very young age, puppy grew rapidly and got healthy, imprinting on his adoptive guardians. a precocious child, puppy embraced the strangeness of his and his guardians' existence — until the phoenix was due a rebirth, and things went to hell in a handbasket. feeling hurt and abandoned, puppy ran away from the home he's known and wandered among the humans for decades. having been weaned on godly magic, puppy's aging slowed to a near halt, preserving his youth. this drew him unwanted attention, and puppy was accosted by hunters one night. he fought back - and took a knife to the heart, left to die. except he got better. all cats have nine lives, after all.
