[it's a good kiss. it's a cute kiss. it's also... well, you know when you've had real sugar and then someone tries to give you fake sugar, and you can just tell it's fake? this is like that for puppy. he knows kisses. he loves kisses. cute kisses like this are for small babies and furry animals, for not cat people like him, and puppy makes a disappointed sound when taller puppy gives him a peck on the corner of his mouth.

A real kiss! [he protests the second puppy pulls away from him.] Give a real one! I promised I'd be good so be good to me too!
[ Cute kisses are definitely for more than just babies! Puppy has seen plenty of couples give each other sweet kisses like this one that have always struck him as being very romantic. Admittedly his lack of dating and general life experience has meant he hasn't really really gotten to do this before now, and other Puppy's complaining does kill any romantic vibe this kiss could have.
It doesn't help that nothing about their relationship has ever really been more than platonic. Weirdly enough, despite other Puppy's request for something a little more physical. ]
That was a real one.
[ He looks a little displeased, because he thought he did a good job here. But fine, if Puppy is going to be that way, the taller of the two Puppies will lean back in and place one right on his lips. It's hardly better though, because this kiss in a peck, and not the melting kind of kiss his friend is asking for.
Again, a general lack of experience doesn't leave Puppy with the know-how to do this but so well. ]
[it's interesting, how puppy has no interest in riding puppy in a sexual way. he's sure that if he put his mind to it, it's gonna happen - but as it is, puppy doesn't really want to. he doesn't know why, but he likes that they're just cuddling all the time just fine. maybe it's other puppy's influence, or maybe it's a little bit of maturity on puppy's part.

either way, puppy grumbles because he's not getting what he asked for, and it's a playtime kiss. so he huffs, and puffs, and takes puppy's face by both hands and kisses him somewhat properly.

[ The taller Puppy would be delighted to know he has had any kind of positive influence on his friend, and he thinks being able to form close bonds without wanting to sleep with that person counts as positive! It's not that sex is inherently wrong or anything, and that Puppy is the kind of person to judge people for having it! It's just that sometimes his friend gets so focused on it that it can be kind of worrying.
But also the taller Puppy is something of a weenie virgin too. Enough so that he hasn't ever kissed someone like this before, and it floors him a little when it happens.
It even takes him a few stuttering seconds to form a proper response after his friend breaks the kiss. ]

this time, puppy opens his mouth, pries other puppy's own with his lips and tongue, drawing the other's lower lip in with a nip and a lick. it's a playtime kiss, a real one like they've never had before. they don't have to play puppy's games; just kissing is fine, honestly. but if he's going to get kissed he better be kissed right. he has standards!]
There, [puppy exclaims when they part, breathless.] Put your hands on my waist, this time, and try again.
[ The little cat is going to fry his tall tree friend if he's not careful. Puppy isn't used to this kind of attention and interaction with other people, and it's a lot for him to try and handle right now.
Deep kissing? Never done. Kissing with teeth and tongues involved? Absolutely never done. Puppy isn't as active in this kiss as he could be, but he does make some kind of noise the minute he first feels teeth on his lips, and his body goes rigid at the tongue that follows.
He also kind of wants to run and hide under a blanket as embarrassment kicks in hard and heavy, but almost mindlessly his traitorous hands find their way to the smaller Puppy's waist. He clears his throat, and tries to hold his head high like he's not panicking internally as he finds himself well out of his depth. ]
I'm going to do it my way though, which is just as good.
[ He manages to muster more confidence in his voice than he feels as he leans down and presses his lips to Puppy's lips. It's a mush softer kiss than the one he was just given, but he's lingering instead of pulling back after a quick peck. ]
